STC has now been established for 18 years, performing it’s first show at the Library Theatre (As it was then called) back in 1992. That was Sandy Wilson’s ‘The Boyfriend’. The success of the show, and the infectious enthusiasm of STC’s founding members set the Society on its way to present a string of exciting and memorable musicals. From Rodgers & Hammerstein classics such as ‘South Pacific’ and Carousel’, to the operatic challenge of Sondheim’s ‘Sweeney Todd’, STC has enjoyed rave reviews and sell out performances year-on-year.
We rehearse on Tuesdays (Principals) & Thursdays (full cast) in Solihull from 7.30 – 10pm from late September until show week in May. This year, for the dirst time since 1992, STC will also be presenting an autumn concert.
Whilst we all take the business of musical theatre seriously (Sometimes too seriously), we always make sure that the hard work of rehearsal is enjoyable and full of laughs. We are a friendly bunch, and enjoy each others company as much as we enjoy welcoming new members.
Through the year we organise many well-supported fundraising activities. These include: quiz nights, treasure hunts, golf tournaments and visits to other theatre productions. We are always on the lookout for new ways to raise money and generally have a great time
